I have many category titles that are longer than 32 characters and many product names that are longer than 64 characters. This is really hindering my ability to accurately list my products. Is there a way to raise these numbers higher?

YES!! I can change that for product names and category names. I had to go into the database and find categories_descriptions in the left side bar. Once in that, find the category_names and click on the pencil to change that info. Change the varchar box from 32 to whatever up to 255. You can do this for products_descriptions to products_names as well, but it is set at 64. I raised both of mine to 255 and they work great!!

Keep in mind that if you change something in *one* place there might be other places where such a change must also be made, such as product names in the tables that store completed orders.
However, I submit that if one has really really long product and category names, one will probably have navigation problems on their site and may be putting too much detail in the product name ... which should be put elsewhere instead.
Too often people stuff their product name with excessive keywords, which is annoying to customers and results in being flagged as spam-like. Just be sure you're really doing it for the customer's benefit ... otherwise you might actually be making things harder on your customers, and thus resulting in fewer sales.
