Extremely odd ordering problem...

I launched a client back in August...everything tested and worked great....she contacted me about a month ago and said that an order had been placed, but it was given an order # that was BACK about 30 or so numbers (for example her latest order # had been 370, then the new order she said was a probelm was order #340) and it was even backdated to the month that the 340 s were actually in which was august.....

I figured it was a glitch and asked her to let me know if it happened again...

well it did...she got an order today....it is #335 which is in a sequence that is from August again....and to make it even more confusing the customer ordered 2 items that were not visible on the website (they were in the admin but turned off).....

The customers name is NOT in the admin at all...order # 335 was a test order that my client did back in AUgust....the order #335 that came in today is a real customer....

I know this is confusing...but does anyone have any idea where I can even begin to diagnose this...

This was a site that I redesigned...and had to move to a new host....so I am guessing it may be a database issue?

Was there anything consistent about the orders that were bad such as:

What Payment Method was used?

What Shipping Method was used?

Thanks Ajeh....no, the first order was done via Paypal....so my client only knew about the order because of the Paypal email...she never got on from the cart...

The second order was done via credit card...and she did receive a confirmation dated the current date with a prior used order #...

She uses flat rate shipping....

And she has had orders in between these that were fine and the order numbers are consistent...and our test orders go through fine....this is why its so baffling!

Anything like the PayPal did not come until another PayPal went through?

What Credit Card Payment module are you using?

What addons do you have installed?
