customer can order more than stock quantity?

ok i have a zenstore that is running live, i dont' know why for example i set 1 quantity for my item , and one day when i check my order i see the customer can order 2 of them, that is impossible, only 1 left!, and when i login to that categorize, the product show the quantity -1 and zencart diasable the item~~

and i try to login myself, set back the item quantity to 1, and let see if i can add 2 to cart, nope ! i cannot buy more than the quantity i set in store, everything is alright!! so just curious how that customer can do that ?? is there any other way or bug can achieve this ??

Are you editing the quality Maximum and Minimum amounts? Or the product amount?

I just had this same thing happen and mine says -3 and disabled the product but allowed it to go through for the customer without letting them know that it was out of stock after they ordered 3. I only edited how many I had in stock on the product not the min/max. I left that at the default. I never had this happen before now. One thing I was wonder was if this was because the customer used a gift certificate, would it make it not work right? Either way I would like to fix this so I don't have to email my customers back in disappointment that they won't be able to get the product they ordered.

No one knows about this or has had this problem? I would really like to know why it did this, because it caused me a bit of trouble with a customer and I would like to not have to go through that again.

what setting do you have for admin->configuration->stock->allow checkout?

if this is set to "true", the customer will be allowed to checkout even if they purchase more items than you have in stock..

Thank you! It was set to true - I changed it to false.
