Sort Order Issues (items keeps rotating at random)

I'm on v1.8.3 and I've only got three items in my store but on the main store page (http://store.brothersatwarmovie.com/index.php?main_page=) I keep getting a different sort order of the items every time I refresh the page. I don't get this. I set the sort order for each item (the DVD should appear first, then the soundtrack) and it doesn't change anything. The catalog just appears at random. How do I fix this?

You ar displaying the featured items and not your catalog categories...

Check the settings in admin > config > layout settings > Categories - Always Show on Main Page
This is normally set by default to 3 per row and you can change in max values
Depending upon if your 3 products are in one cat or in 3 cats will also affect how they are displayed

I don't want to display categories. There are no categories. Just three items. Featured is how I want to display it.

Try checking your current setting for
admin > config > featured listing > Display Product Display - Default Sort Order >

You might try "8"

OK, I got it working. This is better but I want to lose the Filter dropdown menu as well as the table header (Product Image, Item Name, etc.) and the Displaying 1 to 3 (of 3 products) copy. That's not really necessary for such a small store.

Try admin > config > product listing > Include Product Listing Alpha Sorter Dropdown > set to false

Yep. That got rid of the Filter dropdown. Still have the table header and the 'Displaying 1 to 3 (of 3 products)' text to get rid of.
