Removing some attribute data from drop down

Hi all,

I'm just starting to use attributes to save clutter on my site and have run into a minor problem.

I stock by size & weight and shipping is based on order weight. I have set up an attribute to resolve this but the display of the dropdown for weight looks rediculous.

e.g. 5Kg (=£5) (=5Kg)

What would make more sense is:-

5Kg = £5
The customer obviously already knows how much the product weighs as it was chosen by the customer, so the second value is not required. The brackets also look untidy so is there a way to remove the brackets and the second duplicate weight? Apologies if this has been covered already but I came up with nothing in the searches performed.
