    Default Installing on Glob@t

    Hello,
I have been trying to install zencart on a sight hosted at by glob@t most of the morning. After reading the intsall.txt file and several help comments and pages I still cannot get the install to actualy run. Sofar there is no important company information on the sight, so most of the permissions are set at 777 and everything has been moved to the root file as has been said many other places however when I go to the browser and type in //http{www.mydomain.net}/zc_install with the actual websight input I either get an error that the dirrectory has no index file or that an unknown error has occured.

This is one of the actual error mesages:
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.

Default Re: Database Installation - Access Denied

I also keep getting a similar error. For some reason with the path to my database from the sight host help chat and the CP username password I keep getting this error:
Access denied for username @'boscgi2104.eigbox.net (using password YES) which has nothing to do with the hosting I am using and does not appear anywhere in the paths I have entered.

    Under More Information it says:
A connection to the database could not be made. This can happen for a number of reasons.

You may have given the wrong DB host name, or the user name or password may be incorrect.

You may also have given the wrong database name (Does it exist? Did you create it? -- NOTE: Zen Cart™ does not create a database for you.).

Please review all of the entries and ensure that they are correct.

I have created the database, and entered the correct path to it and the CP username/password.

If boscgi2104.eigbox.net isn't your hosting account, then the path information in your configure.php files is incorrect, or you may have a redirect set up, by you or someone else, possibly a hacker.

Somehow we got past that, but now it's telling us the Cache file doesn't exsist. There is both a file and a database on the sight named cache. We have tried the path to both the file and the database aswell as just cache and the default while installing and none of them work weather we have Yes or No selected for the backup.
I'm still trying different things I can think of but it's starting to get amazingly frustrating and the more info options are not helping at all.

It all sounds like your hosting company has an odd configuration, and maybe isn't designed to run an advanced ecommerce package like Zen Cart.

they might not let us because they also have their own shopping cart type system but the issue is that we will need to be able to acess it from multiple computers and theirs only allows for 1 physical adress to have admin priveleges. Soon we might actualy be working from 2 different states on the same store so this is the only real option we have. I guess it's time to start looking for a new host.

Yes, it definitely sounds like whatever services you have now are underpowered for your business requirements.
