Can't insert specials

Hi. For some reason my Zen Cart version 1.3.8a has stopped allowing me to insert a new product into specials. It goes through the motions, allowing me to choose the product, set the special price and dates and press "insert"; the window then goes back to the main page and when I check Catalog -> Specials there is nothing there. Nothing shows on my site either.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you recently installed the security patch? If yes, re-install the patch and try it again.

Can you add new products to your catalog?

Thanks Tino, re-installing all the recent security patches did the trick! Yes, I could add a new product to a category, just not a new special (or a new featured) product. All works fine now, though.
