Text alignment issues

The text under my products on the product listing page is centered. I'm trying to align it to the left. I've tried changing it in the CSS by adding text-align: left; to the .productListing-data and nothing happens. I'm using column layout grid v1.3.8 so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Any ideas?

.listingDescription {text-align:left;}
