Show subcategories in main column..

Forgive me, i know it must be so obvious...

Is there an attribute I need to enable in the admin somewhere to show subcategories on the main page?

Currently, when a category is chosen, im only seeing specials.

Sorry to post such a noob question but I cant find the answer.

P.S. I have 'Show SubCategories on Main Page while navigating' set to true in Admin.

I would double-check that admin setting you mentioned. That's the only thing I can think of that will turn off that display.

Are you using a custom template that may have turned that off?

May we have a link to your site?

Hi Steve, thanks for replying. The site isnt live yet, but here's the category with two subcategories (the product images are placeholder);

The template is custom. I've actually tried enabling and disabling the "Show SubCategories on Main Page while navigating" option.

Perhaps it is because the of the custom template?

I'd guess that the template designer turned that display off. They didn't seem to do it in the stylesheet, so there must have been some non-template files in the template package.

You might ask them about it.

Search on the red text to find the thread with the fix for this.

And write to the designer and complain about this, so we don't keep running into the problem for years to come. They could have gotten the same result by including an admin setting SQL command in the template files instead of deleting standard functionality.
