help question editable price button (like donation)?

    Hi !
Is there a way to make an editable price button (like a donation), so that customers can fill in any price they like?
E.G. with PayPal buttons, when I leave the amount empty, it automatically creates an empty field to fill in the price amount...

    Thanks in advance for answering.

    Hi Angela,

That is not standard functionality within Zen Cart I'm afriad -- you would need to contact a Zen Cart developer who should be able to get that working for you.

You can set up a $1.00 product, and let the customer enter the amount they wish to pay as the quantity.

    Hi DrByte,
thanks, very creative! but I think it would not look too professional, especially in the order confirmation ... :-)

Perhaps it's a matter of perspective or preference. I have many clients using exactly this method, with great satisfaction.
It's easy to set up, easy to manage, and easy for customers to use.

Naturally, you can hire someone to do it for a fee, or you can use the built-in capability for no cost. Most organizations accepting donations appear to prefer the free approach because it makes sense for their business model.
