Default Contact Form Captcha - v1.3.8a

    Hi All,

Used the search and found others using ZC 1.3.8a with similar issues but no luck in finding a fix so hopefully someone can help.

I'm trying to integrate the CAPTCHA plugin linked below and it won't show up in my admin panel to complete the process.

    http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1348

I followed the installation instructions to the letter... double checked my paths and folder names... even tried to insert the keys manually... but no luck.

I did see that some said that they had to enable it but couldn't find where to do this in the admin CP. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Dave

In your admin to you now have ADMIN > CONFIGURATION > CAPTCHA section??

If not then it hasn't been installed correctly.

Nope. That's the problem. I followed the install directions correctly and don't know why it isn't showing up in the config menu. Others have reported this issue as well.

I looked at that one. I just want CAPTCHA for the contact form and that plugin is way too involved.

It's actually easy to install (I think it is easier than the one you tried), and you can activate just the contact us part if that is all you want. The main advantage this one has over the other is that this one works!

The same issue was reported with this plugin for 1.3.8a. Some people figured it out but they didn't explain how they did it.

I appreciate everyone chiming in but I'm looking for advice from someone who has run into this problem and knows the fix.

I tried to get feedback from someone like that too, with no luck. Before abandoning this mod and going to the other one, my first thought was to look at the file that goes in the Admin Extra Functions directory and try to construct the raw SQL statement since it was either not being called or not running properly on my site (the database tables were never modified). At least running the raw SQL statement would let me see the error log, if any. That's when I decided to go with the other contribution, which has the added benefit of being able to add captcha to more than just the contact us page if I want to expand it down the road (and the benefit of being self-contained rather than relying on a third-party application/site). Anyway, I hope you find the solution (and if you find it on your own, I hope you share it).
