curl_exec error 60 SSL certificate problem

I have been using PayPal Direct Payments module for some time now and it just stopped working. We ahve had no orders since we updated our SSL Cert. I get this error in the logs:

I am unsure what all of this means. Any help is appreciated!

You need to get your hosting company to fix their CURL setup, because it's not accessing SSL properly.

I don't know whether you can fix that by changing a CURL setting.
Your problem appears to be that CURL doesn't see a valid SSL certificate available to it, so it's unable to establish a secure connection to an outside server.

It's probably more of an SSL problem than a CURL problem.
Your symptoms suggest that you probably damaged something when you "updated [y]our SSL Cert."
Maybe you broke the server's CRT bundle by replacing it blindly?
This is why these issues are best handled by the webserver administrator who is familiar with these aspects of web technology and the server's specific configuration.

You may or may not have full facility in your WHM - - -

Look for "Install a SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain" under the SSL/TLS management sidebox

If you do not have this - - Then you can not install or manage a SSL certificate

This is how I did setup the SSL cert. I am not sure what else to do.

You'll need to log a ticket for assistance from your hosting company with fixing your server's broken SSL configuration, including its CRT and CA details.

It seems paypal updated their certificate and that is causing the problem.
