Shipping when customer entering the weight

Hello, I got a small problem.

My products...the customer should be able to select, how many pounds he would like to order (could be also an attribute by selection - this is easy). Then he should go to shipping, where this weight should be automatically recalculated in the cost of shipping. I don't know how to connect the selected weight attribute to the weight shipping module. I don't know how to do this..any suggestions?? thanks

The best way to do this is, as you say, using attributes.

Create Option NAME: (eg:) "Weight" (dropdown)

Create Option values:

Option value one - "Select the weight you want"
Option value two - 1 lb
Option value three - 2 lb
Option value four - 3 lb
Option value five - 4 lb
... etc

Then, when you ASSIGN these attributes to a product in ATTRIBUTES CONTROLLER, there is a feature in the ADD MEW ATTRIBUTES (big grey box) called PRICES AND WEIGHTS.

As you add each option VALUE for weight to a product, simply put the amount of weight for that value in the input field for weight.

You may need to adjust your product weight swettings in the product edit screen... If you have given a BASE weight to the product - eg: 1 lb, then leaving the + sign in the weight attribute section will add the attribute weight to this base weight.
