edit for customers in admin/customers.php not saving my changes

Hi there!

When I click on Admin>Customers>Customers and then choose Edit beside a customer, I am directed to the editing the customers info page. Only when I change something and click on "Update" I am simply returned to the same page with perhaps something like the Group Pricing option printed on the page instead of being in a drop down box etc. Clicking on update again simply does the same thing. If I click on Customers>Customers again, the information I changed has not changed.

I am using 1.3.8 with NUMEROUS mods including:
Super Orders
Group Discount (per item)
Newsletter Discount
Admin log in as customer

These appear to be the ones that effect customers.php

Whenever a modification has been needed by one of the above mods to customers.php, I've always gone in and edited it by hand.

Sadly, I am unaware of WHEN this error started occuring. It's been there for SO long.

Has anyone experienced this? or have a clue of what I've done wrong?

PS I've a major programming NOVICE! Just thought I'd put that in there in case it helps!

Sorry to bump but I really can't figure this out. I have since deleted the group pricing per in item mod as I think I'm happy to use the normal group pricing thing that came with it now.

I have re-merged customers.php using winmerge for the two files mods I use that have edited it : Newsletter Subscribe and Admin Log in as Customer.

I am still not able to edit a customer from admin - even simply just fixing up spelling in their addresses (Capital letters etc). I'm supposed to be able to aren't I?

So I thought I'd add some screen dumps to show what happens...

customer screen.jpg shows initial customer screen.

I then click on "Edit" and I get taken to initial edit customer screen.jpg

I change the discount group and click on "update"

I then get taken to next edit customer screen.jpg

First of all I don't get how there's another update button. when I click on it again, I just get taken back to that same screen. When I return to Admin>Customers>Customers the info hasn't changed, it's the same as the customer screen.jpg.

What have I done wrong?!!

Suddenly I'm having the same issues. Whether it's updating the order status, EZ Pages, product descriptions or anything else, when I hit the update it takes me to the admin home page and nothing was saved. Doesn't happen all the time. Seems to happen when I have the page up for a while...almost like it's timing out or something.

Very frustrating!

I just noticed that I am having the same issue ... doh :frusty: Off to try a vanilla install and see if its working in 1.3.9 out of the box?
