no USPS First Class quote

I very recently set up Zen Cart using Fantastico. It says my version is 1.3.8a [Patched]. No mods, pretty much right out of the box... just a few style sheet tweeks.

I've followed the FAQ instructions for setting up the USPS shipping module. I set up my WebTools account with USPS, received my ID, installed the module, and then contacted USPS to have them put me into production mode.

I have entered my zip code in the Admin Configuration area. In the USPS shipping module, under Domestic Shipping Methods, I've checked Priority, First Class, and Parcel.

Since then, I've even called back to USPS at 800-344-7779 and confirmed that the RateCalculator and everything else is activated and ready to go. They assured me that they've done everything they can do to help me.

So now, I'm pretending to be a customer... I go into my store, put a single item in my cart (0.125 lbs, which equals 2 ounces), and click "Estimate Shipping".

I enter my local state and zip code, but it only quotes Priority Mail and Parcel Post. Shouldn't it be giving me a quote for First Class? Does anyone have any suggestion about what I might be doing wrong??

USPS changed how their system works after v1.3.8a was released. You'll need to apply this update: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97461

Okay, thanks for the info!

I've now removed my USPS module, downloaded usps-update-May12-2008-v13x.zip and added it to my site via FTP, and then re-installed my USPS module.

I now see new options available for International shipments, but I still can't get First Class to show up when I estimate shipping for a 2 ounce domestic order.

Probably because you're using default tare settings, which is adding extra weight to cover packaging costs: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=85
