One Attribute depends on another Attribute

Hello,

I have searched for the answer and I am having difficulty in making it work. However, I would like one attribute to be dependent on another attribute.

example: I sell dress shirts for men that come in neck sizes and sleeve length.

neck size 14.5 only comes in sleeve length 32 and 33
neck size 15.5 only comes in sleeve lenght 32, 33,34,35,36.

So, I want to enter all the neck sizes in one drop down and all the sleeve sizes in another drop down. But if you chose neck size 14.5 the other option name sleeve size will only give you the option of 32 and 33.

Can this be done in zen cart? Thank you in advance for any help!

Short answer, no. Zencart doesn't include dependent attributes, and writing a mod for them must be a very difficult task, since this question has been asked many times and no one has stepped up to do so.

Its quite challenging to make a mod that is very general, which is that you can customise it from the admin with a arbitrary number of attributes.

However, for your problem, you can hard code something with Javascript, that shows the next attributes after the size if selected and restricts choices in the drop down box. However, its not very flexible and not easy to maintain and update.

Although it is a pay for module and I have never used it, I can vouch for the person who created the mod. I have worked with him with other custom modules he created for Zen Cart, some were very complicated, and he knows what he is doing.
