Setting up zones and tables

Can anyone help me, I have no idea how to set up the zones. Just cannot get it? I only want to post to UK, Ireland, Scotland (1 zone) > Europe (zone2)?
Also I am trying to set up the payments for instance in a table upto £5.00 = £1.50 upto 29.99 = £3.50 > upto 59.99=£5.50 after this Free shipping, this will alter for Europe. All I seem to get when testing is the Free shipping part. I really need it simplyfied.

The setting up of zones and shipping must start with a practical and detailed analysis of WHERE you want to ship to and WHO you want to do your shipping for you.

So, step one is getting a comprehensive schedule of rates from your shipper(s).

Then you need to establish how many shipping modules you need to activate (or "clone") in order to provide sufficient variables for your shipping system.

I recently did a shipping project exactly the same as you describe, and I used FOUR "CLONES" of the zonetables module (available in the Free Addons). (We also had other world zones to consider).

In my project, we use Royal Mail and Parcelforce for UK, and a private shipper for Europe and rest of World. There are 17 zones in total.

This was very time-consuming to set up, but my "programming" may be suitable for your set-up.
