    Default page transition not smooth..

    Hello,

    I recently moved my zen cart site from a temporary folder on my server to the www. folder. In the process I must have done something inadvertent to it, because it now does not smoothly transition from one page to the other. There is a black screen flash between pages.

    I am told it is not apparent on IE but since I don't have IE I can not confirm that. I do know it is very apparent in Opera, Firefox, and Safari.

    Has anyone experienced this and if so what did you do to fix it? Or do I have to live with a jarring page transition? It did not do this before the move. I am still in the process of building the site, though I have made no changes to it before or after the move. Please help.

    Thanks

    That a problem your template designer needs to sort out.

    I see no black flash on page transitions in Firefox 3.5, and my computer is slower than most.

    OK, you have to have javascript/flash enabled for the site to see the effect...

    I guess its bacause you use a black background for you body that is shown first and inside a white box of the size of the flash window. I guess first try is to have a white background, and than make the header section black.

    Thanks for your reply s , I will keep looking since the only things different from the day before yesterday is it's server location and the black flash. Everything else is the same as it has been for the past four months. It seems to me it is loading the whole page at every transition and it shouldn't.

    It actually should as these are not static pages but each is built server side and then delivered

    Perhaps something was being cached in the old location but is not being cached (yet?) in the new. For such an odd thing to happen (taking the OP's description at face value) I would ask the server folk what's different about the new location.

    I do see that black transition, using FF 3.5

    My best guess is that the CSS stylesheet is styling the body background black, then the other styles are applied on top of it.

    Try opening the stylesheet and see if you find something like this:

    body {
    background-color: black;
    }

    and delete that color line.

    but i could be wrong... seems strange to me that it happens only after moving the files. well, give it a shot anyhow.
