Default Pulling my hair out please help

I have been trying to set up downloadable files for about 2 weeks and no matter what I do I cant get the download button to appear on the checkout page. I have uploaded the file set the attributes set the flags to the following

    - Use For Display Purposes Only (NO)
    - Attribute is Free When Product is Free (YES)
    - Default Attribute to be Marked Selected (YES)
    - Apply Discounts Used by Product Special/Sale (YES)
    - Include in Base Price When Priced by Attributes (YES)
    - Attribute Required for Text (NO)
    - In the Downloadable products box at the bottom
    - Filename: full name and extention written exactly as it was uploaded

I have set the order status to delivered yet still no download button is appearing can anyone please tell me where I am going wrong

    Many thanks
    Daisy

I've been having the exact same problem the last few days. I've been trying to use "Download MP3" as the Option Name and "URL [Download MP3]" as the Option Value to send an .mp3 file from my server, and I the Attributes Controller returns the following message: "Error Attribute Option and Option Value Do NOT Match - Attribute was not added - : TEXT".

The problem is: they Do match. And additionally, I have exactly the same result as Daisy describes. After the purchase is made, no "Download" button appears. The 'Attributes Changes for Products ID# XXX" returns "download: none".

I have checked it against products on my site that do download successfully, and I cannot see the difference in how the data is entered.

What is the Option Type on your Option Name?

    It needs to be:
    Dropdown

    Radiobutton

    Checkbox

    It cannot be:
    TEXT

    ReadOnly

Thank you for the helpful link Kobra, followed that step by step and now its all sorted, even realised where I had been going wrong and that was by putting the wrong file extension in on the upload !!

Initially I was getting the same error message as you and that was because I had not set the option values correctly, when I had the problem I was having is that my file extension did not match that of the file I had uploaded. If you go through the link that Kobra put in his last posting you will be able to get this sorted out with no problem at all
