Default Migrating from one domain to another

    Hello,

This is my first time using zencart. I downloaded the latest version about 3 days ago. We setup a zencart site using test.mydomain.com. However, we found the provider is too slow. We would like to switch to another provider. We do not want to migrate the domain as of yet as we are still trying them out.

Is it possible to migrate the zen cart site from test.mydomain.com to test.newprovider.com?

We copied over the site except for configure.php and ran the fix-cache-key tool. It said nothing needed to be changed. When we go to the admin page, it still refers to test.mydomain.com and not the new test.newprovider.com. Maybe I am missing something?

Thanks. I'm following along. I'm stuck on step 6. On the NEW server, I get:

#1044 - Access denied for user 'blah'@'localhost' to database 'zenbookstore'

'zenbookstore' is the name of the backup copy of the db.

make sure you've created the user and password on the new hosting server. then assign that user permissions to access the database.

Does it have to have the same username/password that was originally used on the 'zenbookstore' db from the old server?

yeah, it would probably be best to use the same one.

you should be able to find this info in the includes/configure.php file.

or if you want to change the username and password, just make sure you change the config file to match the new login.
