black page after changing meta tags

I altered the meta tag title in includes/languages/english/meta_tags.php.

I found where it said page title define and altered text that was between the commas. I then changed the text between the comma on the next line. The idea was rather than having Zen the art of ecommerce as the page title it would be something else.

Having done so, feeling a little chuffed, pressed refresh and nothing - a blank screen. Any clues - it all seemed so simple:-(

Ps changed the writing back to what it was before (zen the art of e commerce) and it opened up fine?

What are you trying to have it state?
Can not use any special characters directly

What editor are you using?

on the line where it says Zen i replaced it with john Greenwood, then on hte line where it says the art of e commerce i replaced it with The Fyldes no.1 online pro shop.

the box that allows you to chose the encoding is us-ascii
