Unique Code Number Download

Greetings.
I'm trying to sell gift certificates to our 3rd party vendor's sales gateway. These "coupons" each have a unique serial number which I have access to.

I need to be able to sell these so the user is sent a code via email, or just displayed the code upon checkout.

This is not a code for the same zencart, thus the "Gift Certificates/Coupons" built into zen do not seem to fit the bill (unless i am missing something, which is very likely)

I can provide a landing URL which would serially provide a certificate number, or even generate a unique email out to the user upon sales of the certificate.... which is what i'm beginning to think is required....I can get zen to notify my software upon sale of a product and then my software can send the appropriate email, but i was hoping for a bit more seemless solution. I have a human to input codes into zencart every day if i have to.

help? anyone? I would be very thankful!

I came across other systems also when searching for an out-of-the-box solution for issuing license keys, codes, etc. Usually the price is high, and only works with Paypal IPN out of the box. Integrating additional payment methods that you may already be using in your store are an additional £180 each.

Are there any other options we should be looking at other than writing it ourselves?

There are several forum discussions on various ways to issue software serial numbers, product keys, activation codes, etc depending on varying requirements and circumstances. There are even some addons in the Free Addons area.

I found all the discussions in the forums on this topic, and all the suggestions were to do it yourself, with the exception of this particular thread that I came across. I also checked the free add-on section before I posted and didn't find anything that does what third-party modules do. What are the free add-ons you found that I should consider?
