    Default browser problem. i think

okay. so im trying to get my live site on to my local site so i can test out a few add on.

I was able to transfer the database just fine but when i transfer the live files to the local files and replacing everything but the two configure.php files, i can't go to my local site. it download the index.php instead of opening it up on the broswer. the install works with the database if i dont' transfer the files.

Use your valid configure files and just update them w/ the local data.

that is what i did. i copy the live files and copy everything to my local host. everything but the two configure files.

the 2 configure files are the only important files right? everything else is the same

Check your files for a .htaccess file probably in the root directory and if there is a handler for PHP4 inserted within it or a mis match of php version.

An incorrect handler call is usually the cause of this behaviour
