Expanding search fields

Hi

I added a new column to my products table, and want that field to be included in the search results. How can I do this? I modified the

/includes/modules/pages/advanced_search_result/header_php.php

file but it still isn't searching that field

The field I added is in the products table, it's name is "item_number" it's an internal item number for our products, and I'd like it to be searchable

I did try the following, but no success - I would think it would be easy to expand the fields to which it searches?
