Custom Field in Advanced search

Dear everyone,

My Zen-Cart 1.3.8a requires two functions, below:

1) Every product item require a custom gender field, which means both admin and front end have to be modified. For the adime side, a function (e.g. radio box) is required to allow admin to select a gender for a newly added product item when it is being added into the system. For the front end, the product item list displays the field. The Product Extra Fields add-on is not suitable.

2) The gender field is required in advanced search.

Could anyone please shed light on the availability of add-ons, or information on how to implement it?

Any idea will be very much appreciated.

However, I am looking for a solution that has those two functions, or at least has the second function. So I can combine two into one.

So Far I havent found any posts or tutorials on how to add custom fields to Advanced Search.

I need to know the requirements - I am aware of the files but cant get it to work..

It would be good if someone could write a tutorial for this as it is quite perplexing especially with the unique code that zen cart runs on.....

I am basically just trying to add a to - from for a custom field....
