2006 MySQL server has gone away

When a customer clicks on paypal express checkout module for payment appears the following message:

2006 MySQL server has gone away
in:
[select customers_email_format from customers where customers_email_address= 'metal666distro######################']
2006 MySQL server has gone away
in:
[select count(*) as total from sessions where sesskey = 'f9c28638aedc1b341e3d6c931ca75963']

What is the problem? I think my paypal settings are ok...

I have to deny paypal express checkout and paypal website payments pro because of that error...

Server times out before transaction is complete
See if your host will extend the times for php

I think it's better for me to have standart paypal instead of express checkout...thanks anyway Kobra!
