Internal Server Error

yes tried that even tried making them all 777 just to test but nothing yet. I am uploading a fresh set of files just in case something got corrupt. I do have backups of files I changed but cant get to that point again yet

Have just uploaded afresh set of folders and files and made sure that the attributes are correct but I still get Internal server error and now surly it must be at the server end and so I may have to wait for 2 days as server support sort of is no existent at weekends

Many servers/hosts have settings for permissions where a php file at 777 will error

Yes but I have had the zen cart working and used 777 before
I have just run a little test.php and that throws up an Internal server error as well the test was

phpinfo();
?>
and called it test.php and placed it in the public_html folder it still throws up an Internal Error

Can you please tell me the correct attribute for the PHP files.
most are at 644 after uploading to the server
