Missing things after template change.

Very inexperienced noobie here when it comes to Zen Cart. I just started playing with it yesterday.

So here's the problem. My brother's site is based off the Zen Cart store system and he asked me to change his site template and update the header graphics and such. No big deal, I gave it a shot.

After changing the template, getting the header correct with the slogan, side boxes and everything I notice that the catagories he had set up are no longer available within the main center column. They only show up in the side columns. I've tried changing catagory tabs on/off within the configuration area having no effect on the site. I thought it may be because of the size of the images not fitting within the center column, but even changing the number of items displayed didn't work. When I revert back to the classic template, the catagories and images work fine within the main content column.

Also, another big problem is the information is gone such as privacy notice, shipping info, contact us. The links are there, but the content is missing. For example, when you click on the privacy notice, the default text appears and it seems I have to re enter any of the information from the "define pages editor" I also notice within the layout boxes controller, that an entry called, "classic/information/php" that is listed in RED is missing from the layout boxes in the new template
and I have no idea how to get that entry back.

Isn't there a way to import all the settings from the classic template? What am I doing wroing here?

Awesome, thanks Stevesh! That solved the catagories and thumbnails not showing up in the main column.

Now I just have the information links to figure out.

I'm using Monster Templates Theme 25879 and have a problem. The Contact Us link goes to an EZpage, but I really want the default Contact Us template.

I've downloaded tpl_contact_us_default.php from

/includes/templates/default_tempaltes/templates and loaded it into my custom templates folder /includes/templates/theme279/templates, however how do I get it to display when I click the "Contact Us" link?

I'm assuming that I change the EZ pages to an internal link, but not sure what the link should read.

Please help.

OK, managed to solve my own problem and posting here for others edification....

The internal link turn out to be: index.php?main_page=contact_us

However, when I went into EZ pages and deleted out the HTML entered content in favour of the internal link and "updated" - Zen Cart didn't take the change immediately and kept giving me an error message that I had duplicate definitions for Contact Us.

After several tries of doing exactly the same thing - deleting out any input in the HTML editor area and typing in the internal link in the textarea required, it finally took.

Now when I click Contact Us in the browser, I actually arrive at the "form" version.
