Would it be possible to link to ZenCarts Payment page from an external custom page?

Situation: Customer requires a custom design "cart" for display and product selection from a non-ZenCart inventory database. I want to create an order dynamically via php and then use the Zencart payment page to do the checkout. Initially I only need payment, eventually I would like to use shipping also. Populating Zencart's product database is not an option at this time. Would this be possible or am I looking at a Frankenstein effort?

The better question is why would you want to do this?

I've already re-invented the wheel for the cart front end, I don't wish to do so for the payment side, and I eventually will migrate this cart and another to a full ZenCart.
