Is there any way to assign shipping methods to a product?

Hi Guys,

Is there any way to assign shipping methods to a product? That means when I insert a product I could select available and corresponding shipping methods for this product. So when customers check out they only see the assigned shipping methods.

So you setup methods
A
B
C
and associate them with your products
What if I purchase one from A, one from B and one from C

What method are you going to display to me as a customer?

In the case which you've mentioned, it would be better to show the products with same shipping condition in the separated orders.

The reason I have my question is because let's say some products only can use a special type of shipping methods such as frozen food. Some products can only be shipped by Canada Post. Some of the products can only be picked up in the store, etc.

We don't want the customers to select the shipping methods because it may cause big confusion.

Is there any way we can make it happen or work around?

You might Google 'ceon advanced shipping'. Their solution isn't free, but it looks like it can do most anything regarding Zencart shipping.

I'm curious if you yourself have used the Ceon Advanced Shipping?

I ask because yesterday you advised me to buy the same package to solve a shipping problem I have. I spent the 50 GBP, and now I'm scratching my head about how to set up the thing.

The directions in the documentation simply don't make any sense to me.

So, back to the original question I asked: Have you actually used the Ceon Advanced Shipping module, or are you just recommending it on hearsay, or what?

As I mentioned in your other post, I didn't recommend the Ceon mod, just pointed out that it's available. I haven't used it. I would assume, though, that any mod that does all the things that one does would require more work to configure than usual.

Yep, I did get Advanced Shipper up and running, although it took a lot of asking questions and even some blind luck.
