No Error Message Upon Image Upload

Hi All, I have a client using Zen Cart and need a little help. When a customer uploads an image on the product page, there is no error message when the upload has failed. It just churns away as if to upload, then goes to the shopping cart, but no photo uploaded. As a customer you wouldn't know it did not upload, so my client is having to call customers after checking out to get the photo again.

In addition, she would prefer there be some sort of progress bar displayed while customer is uploading file(s).

So essentially I need to know why there is no error message, how to make it give one, and add a progress bar.

EDIT: Oh and it seems she is using Image Handler 2 for the uploads at the moment. We are certainly open to other suggestions that might be a little more easier to use.
