    help question Changing Permissions in Admin

    I just uploaded the email export file and tried to change the permission in my admin in order access the file. it won't save the change??? Please help!

    If you mean the ZenCart admin - -
    Than there is no facility in the ZenCart for altering file permissions

    I'm talking about when I go into "Tools" and then "Admin Settings", I click on some of the permissions to add and then click on save. When I go back in, it doesn't save them.

    This problem just started after I did a up grade two days ago. Verson 1.3.8.1.sp1. When I go into "Admin Settings" under " Tools" and try and change or add permissions, it doens't save the changes. HELP!!!

    I'm with kobra on this -- I don't see anything in admin/Tools/Admin Settings for changing permissions, certainly not permissions on files. Also, what's this about a version 1.3.8.1.sp1? Where did you get that? The current version is 1.3.8a.

    You're using the word 'permissions' wrong, I think. Sounds like what you're trying to do is edit or add an admin user.

    Admin changes that won't 'take' is one possible result of installing the latest admin security patch incorrectly. Be sure you added the patch files to admin, and not the cart section.

    i use the version 1.3.8a and i have had a similar issue. i have changed both config files to use ssl. the problem i have is that everything works great, but when i log into the admin using ssl or not i am not able to change anything. if i say go to the "my store" link and click the edit button for a change it seems like something is working but i get instantly "poped" out of the page and back to the admin index. here is the code.

    this happens weather or not ssl is on or not. what might be the issue?

    I am also running the same version of zencart 1.3.8a as above, newly installed via my web host. I installed the ADD-ON to be able to change permissions in admin (it does exist contrary to what some others are telling you but it is an Add-on, at least in my world). Everything appears to be working beautifully except when I log on as the second admin user, with only the ability to access Customers or Categories, for example, it takes me back to the index screen with NO ability to access customers or categories from the green menu bar. NO ability to access anything except log out or go to my online catalog. The config admin does not seem to save the changes made, just wipes out all access for users other than the Main user. I've tried creating several users with different restricted access. None of them work. Only the initial admin with unrestricted access works.
    I have combed the forums and FAQs for this particular issue without any luck.
    Any Help on this Add-on would be appreciated. My client does not need to be further confused by having too many things to be able to change. They only need access to the Customers or Categories area of the admin, and have specifically requested I limit their access.

    I finally had to hire someone to go in and add the new patches, which solved the problem for me!! If anyone can direct me to a tutorial, step by step, on how to add patches, that would be great!!!
