customizing catagories?

customizing catagories?

Im trying to figure out if you can customized the categories items. It seems kinda bland just wandering if anyone had any ideas to animate it alittle bit. Also anyone know how to change the background color of the catagories side box, not the title box? Thanks for any help guys. Im pretty newb at all this so please go easy on me

By "categories items", do you mean the sidebox or the listing of subcategories in the center?
And how do you want to liven them up?

To style just the categories sidebox, add to your stylesheet

#categories {background: #aabbcc;}

Adjust the color and add other properties to your taste.

The sidebox has a title i.e. Categories, then under it there are Sub Categories. Well I want to change the background where the sub categories are and maybe put them (the sub categories) in their own tile type boxes. . Just a little more professional looking. Im sure Im not explaining this well. Thanks for replying

For sidebox customization, try Categories Dressing (link in my sig).
You will be able to do almost anything you want between settings and stylesheet customization.

Do you mind if i check out your site? I just got your categories dressing ima mess with it a bit. Thanks for you help. Also do i just copy and paste the includes/ folder i downloaded to my server?

After changing the /your_template/ folders inside the mod's /includes/ folder to match your custom template name, you just upload the whole /includes/ folder to the root of your server ZC installation.
