    Default CSS Issues: a:Visited & A:Hover

    Hey guys-
I'm giving up after a couple days trying to figure it out. I'm posting out of desperation. I'm sure it's something very simple and easy, but I'm just not seeing it.

    Go to- h c g s u p p l y . c o m / s t o r e

The links in the Green EZPages bar- they're SUPPOSED to be white normally, then green when hover. Once the link is visited, I don't want it to change- so it stays white.

However, as soon as I visit a link, I lose the green hover color- the link just stays white and doesn't do the hover thing.

I tried deleting the a:visited reference completely- since I don't want the links to change AT ALL once they're visited (anywhere on the site)- but doing that turned the visited links to purple and underlined.

I'd REALLY appreciate the input. I'm learning a ton about this CSS stuff, but it's little things like this just throwing me.

You should be using FireFox browser with the following ADD-ON plugins:

    Developer Toolkit (by Chris Pederick)
    Firebug

These tools allow you to load a page (in firefox) then "unpick" its components (including styles) while it is in "offline" mode.

The tools will also identify element-specific styles, so if you want a hover feature to apply ONLY to a specific style ID or CLASS, then you can write it into your stylesheet.

Unfortunately, the forum is not the place for comprehensive CSS tutorials, but many people (me included) will post help on CSS, but it is more beneficial if you have more than just a smattering of CSS knowledge.

As CSS is so important to layout, you would do well to install firefox and the tools described, and then do some CSS tutorials.

There are many free tutorial sites for CSS...

I actually HAVE that installed. I didn't know you can unpick items like that. Let me play with that and see what I can find...
