As a VPS - this is most likely a default LAMP configurationThese are my server settings. Maybe it may shed some light.
I also suppose that you have root access
There are many .cnf files that one can "TUNE" to optimize for database intensive operations
This forum is not the venue for server setup/tweaking but there are many out there
Zen-Venom Get Bitten
Thanks for your reply. I was just trying to find out whether it is a server issue or a zencart issue. I will go back to the server and discuss this more with them.
If anyone else has anymore suggestions i am still open to them. thanks.
If they are not familiar with ZenCart they will probably "freak" at the number of querries - -Thanks for your reply. I was just trying to find out whether it is a server issue or a zencart issue. I will go back to the server and discuss this more with them.
They need to know that these are well indexed tables - as much as can be and that there are servers that can run ZenCart very quickly
On a VPS they will likely try to up sell you to additional resources

You are probably right. They did ask me if i wanted a dedicated server. I have only 80 small sites and only fill the server by a third. financially it is not viable to upgrade to dedicated. I have found that moving from shared to vps a little better in the sense of control etc. speed a bit better.
