Classic Template Custom

I apologize if this is answered already but I have no idea what they are called to find it.

On the Classic Template. When I click on a parent category and it displays all the sub categories on the sidebox. It ALSO displays all these subcategories in the centerbox above the products. How do I disable the display of the subcategories in the centerbox and leave the sidebox displayed?

admin > config > Layout Settings > Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF > turn off

Not that one.. They are actually listed just below where those tabs would be. In between the Category Title and the Product Box.

Show Sub-Categories on Main Page while navigating through Categories AND set to 0
