UPS shipping question

Hi all,

I spent the better part of an hour looking and can't find an answer to my problem....was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Last year I was rushed to get my storefront up so I set up shipping costs on a set percentage of purchased product basis. This caused a few problems.

I ship UPS exclusively but the problem is....I have dozens of items that are oversized and UPS charges extra for oversized packages. Is there a way to accomodate this?

If not is it possible to charge auto calculate percentages on most items and single out others for special delivery pricing that doesn't automatically calculate but uses an assigned pre-determined amount instead and have that work for some product while the set percentage is . Obviously I would want both to work seamlessly in the background...

While I have not used it and I have seen posts about it being difficult to setup - I take it that anything that allows item specific shipping would have requirements...

There is a commercial advanced shipping module that is touted to be able to do this by ceon

Yes....UPS charges extra for cartons that exceed "standard" length/width/height measurements....

Does the "Google ceon advanced shipping module work as part of ZC or is it something that would need additional work to use?

kobra meant for you to use Google to search for 'ceon advanced shipping'. I haven't used the mod, but it seems it can do just about anything regarding shipping. You would install it into Zencart, and it would work as part of your store.

I found it...but frankly the documentation is not very robust and it's hard to tell what, exactly, it will do in regards my question... I emailed them.....
