Can't seem to make the email functions work

Hello fellow zen users,

I have been going around and around trying to figure out why the email functions don't work. I have gone through the admin options and even tried to use the host SMTP rules but nothing seems to work. I suspect there is some odd bit of code in the mail routine but I haven't been able to track it down. If you who read this would do me a favor and try the register function as a new user and report back to me if you received an email confirmation I would appreciate it. My site is http://www.rlarthurphotos.com and from the index page there is a link to either log in or register new. Please let me know if you do this so I can watch for your registrations as I have the admin set up to let me know too. My email addy is randallarthur at hot mail dot com.

I created an account and did receive an email. so it's sending OK, anyway.
