different payment operations in different categories

ok, latest zencart. Have been running it for 1,5 years. Know I want to add some products that I cant ship cod, only moneyorder

I use two payment modules, cod and moneyorder.

In some categories I want moneyorder to be the only payment method.

I have tried this:

cant get it to work. Im not a coder so I really need a "just for dummies" instruction on how to set this up.

Cant nobody help me. Ive been trying to fix it by myself and the only thing i manage is to crash my test site

Transactions cannot be split between payment options... Your quest is pointless...

That's right... Linda's suggestions will enable or disable a payment option - depending on the product - but the end result will only be one payment option offered.

Unless you ALSO govern what a customer can add to cart, you cannot have more than one payment option available at checkout.

If I add a product from category A (moneyorder only) then your conditional must stop me from adding category B products (COD) (and vice versa) - which is (fundamentally) Linda's solution.

But as you are not using a payment gateway there's a remote chance that you could (at checkout) specify which products will be delivered COD and which will require the customer to send a check first...

... interesting challenge ! (Will require some heavy custom coding I imagine).

I understand the problem. If a customer orders from the two different catogories its only going to show moneyorder.

If a customers orders from the category there we can ship both moneyorder and cod both payment options are going to show and if someone orders from the category there we only can use moneyorder this is going to show.

This way there aint no problem when someone is orderig from different categories.
