Discount Coupons aren't saved when creating

Hello,

I've read the DC FAQ, and the sticky threads in this forum but could not find a similar issue, so I am asking it here :

I am trying to create a coupon, even the simplest one. The module is of course installed.
When I am previewing the coupon and saving it, the admin goes back to admin home without any sign of error, but there are no coupons created, I even checked zen_coupons table and it's empty except of 2 pre-configured inactive coupons.

Looking up the coupon in discount_coupon.html?action=lookup brings no results, of course.

There are no errors cought in my "cache" folder, so I am kinda stomped . It's 1.3.8 on godaddy hosting.

Do the other admin functions work properly?

Not being able to save admin changes is one possible result of improper installation of the latest admin security patch. Make sure you uploaded the patch files to the admin folders, and not the cart folders.

every other cart or admin function seems to work right, and I'm pretty sure I've applied the security patches correctly.

Is there a debug mode I can activate to get verbose output ?

Is it possible the new Discount Coupon is on Page 2 and you just did not notice the page numbers?

I'm been programming too many years to allow such an error

as I wrote previously, zen_coupons table has only 2 rows , that are there probably by default.

"Cache" folder is empty so no PHP error is going on, apparently.

Can I somehow insert logging to an external file in the relevant php files, to be able to debug ?

Get the Debug Tool from the Free Software Add Ons ... see if that reveals any problems ...

It's freaky, but I haven't done anything except applying the debug tool contrib, as recommended by Ajeh - and suddenly everything works fine !

so it's not only a debug, but a fixing tool too
