Index Page Only Showing Specials

Hey all,

I don't recall making any changes that would affect this, but for some reason, the index page for our store is only showing the products that are 'Specials'.

I've changed the option to show all products in a Categories box, but where can I find an option to set this for the main page?

Peek in the Configuration ... Index Listing ... and see what Centerbox settings you have for:
New Products
Featured Products
Special Products
Upcoming Products

where 0 means OFF and any other value is the Sort Order of the Centerboxes in the various sections ...

NOTE: there is also a set in the Configuration ... Stock ... for when the shopping cart is emptied while on the shopping_cart page ...

Thanks for your response, Ajeh.

I did take a look at those settings and everything appears to be enabled and ordered correctly, but the main page still only shows the 'Monthly Specials'.

I also double-checked the Stock settings page and didn't see anything in there either.

If you switch to the Classic Template do they show?

I have the same problem. Monthly specials and featured products are showing up, but new products are not. My new products are activated in index listing to show sort 1. When I switch to the classic template it shows up, but when i switch back to my customized themeStock template the new products disappear from main page (index listing page) - I had this problem before, and sorted it out by editing one of the files, I just don't remember which file it was! It's mind wrecking I've went through every file that seems to matter but nothing... Any ideas your help is much appreciated!

That would tell you that something in your template is breaking things ...

Many template designers just hack away at the templates and code to make their design work with no regards to the proper coding techniques ...

You might try using something like Beyond Compare and compare the clean files to your template files and see where they broke it ...

Hey Ajeh, thanks man! I just replaced the template's version of templaes/tpl_index_default.php with the template_default version of tpl_index_default.php and it seems to have fixed it. I friggin compared this thing outright but seriously I don't know what the deal was. But this seems to have sorted the problem. I really appreciate your help man thanks!

In the theme stock template's version this is found in templaes/tpl_index_default.php:

That is correct ... good find ...

Also, if the template file in your templates and overrides is the identical file in the template_default then you do not need it in your templates and overrides ...

NOTE: The templates and overrides should only hold files that actually are different from the defaults ...

Yep most of these custom templates from third-party developers are a bit dodgy! Thanks for the heads up!
