    Default shipping by weight

    Hi,

I would like to set shipping by weight.

    i.e. 0>249g = $3.70, 250g>499g = $4.90, 500g>3kg= $8.60

Can anyone tell me the correct module to use?

    Many Thanks

    The Table would be good.

The shipping cost is based on the total cost or weight of items. Example: 25:8.50,50:5.50,etc.. Up to 25 charge 8.50, from there to 50 charge 5.50, etc

    gday princess leigh

i just set up my shipping mod by zones as we ship all over the world.

so I have 5 zones and at the mo i have it according to the aust post guide book but i've not finished putting in the other countries.

maybe I will post it here for other aussies when I've finished.

so my zones are set up as follows:
zone one - AU, NF [aussies]
zone two - NZ [kiwis - ZONE A]
zone three - countries in ZONE B
zone four - countries in ZONE C
zone five - countries in ZONE D

I didn't want to use the aust post mod in this instance.

You'll want to change all instances of lbs to grams or kgs
Personally, i've set mine up as grams coz its easier.

Will you be just limiting your shipping area to Australia only?

    cheers,

    Thanks for the replies.

stagebrace - i had thought of that but my procucts are not all the same. i.e. I have some weighing 140g and others weigh only 30g so a weight per number of products would not be correct IYKWIM.

butterflyo - thanks for that I may give it a go. I now have the aus post module and I am deciding what to do, meaning am I feling brave enough to install it???

    Many Thanks

what starbrace meant, if you have a set price per weight RANGE
thats ok -- you can still use tables.

What you wanna do is give all your products a weight

and then set up your tables like so

    249:3.70, 499:4.90, 3000:8.60

so the weight total in your cart that falls between 0 and 249 (as defined in by your product weight) will get charged $3.70

if it falls between 249 and 499 it gets charged $4.90 .....

I didn't want to use the aus post mod because we have our charges @ ranges, similar to yours in Australia.

    I've got this problem too...
I originally ran (or run) a Prestashop based shop, and all shipping is done by weight ie:-

    0 99 £2.03
    100 249 £2.53
    250 499 £2.83

weight is in grams, although kilograms is no problem either.
Anyway, I need to know a way on how to input the weight ranges into Zen Cart to allow for the differences in weight.
