Navigation Bar Buttons

Please could anybody help me. I have been trying to make my navigation links ' Home, Log Out ,My Account, Shopping Cart, ' etc. that are left aligned on the navigation bar, centered or in the middle of the nav bar.
Also can anybody suggest a way that I can make these links look like the search button that is right aligned also on the nav bar.
and make the word search sit in the center of the button.
Thanks for all the help I just love this forum and this product its just what I was looking for.
Any help most appreciated - I'm in early development stages so if you peek please remember I'm learning.

Ok I have made the word 'search' fit the button and now looks great
still cant make the other links look like the search button or center the links.

Changed the file
includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_search_header.php

Look for this line HEADER_SEARCH_BUTTON . '" style="width: 35px”
Change it to HEADER_SEARCH_BUTTON . '" style="width: 55px”

upload to
includes/templates/YOUR CUSTOM/sideboxes/tpl_search_header.php

All that was required in my case was to make the button a little larger.
