Tracking Number of Add to Shopping Cart Clicks

What would be the best way to track the number of times users have clicked on the Add to Shopping Cart button for a certain product? I've tried installing the Google Analytics mod but it isn't capturing this information. Would there be another way to capture the number of add to cart clicks?

That's an insightful thread with many good posts by ecommerce. I believe he wrote the Simple Google Analytics mod while a_berezin wrote the Google Analytics by Andrew mod. I have two questions about this type of tracking:

1. What mod should I be using - Simple or Andrews?

2. Is there another mod or form of statistical analysis that would yield real-time results. My host "godaddy" has extremely poor Web Site stats. Even their paid for product Site Analytics does not allow for script level/query string type tracking. So I am wondering if there is another tracking mod or way others have implemented real time stat analysis.

No mod required for goal tracking you do it on the analytics side. I personally use simple analytics for my site but it's just the one I saw first. You'll want something that does the conversion tracking.

Out of all the stats out there Analytics is the most comprehensive by far for the price (free!). Honestly the only other thing I'd like to try out is Urchin which is what Analytics is based off of. But I've yet to have the opportunity to test it out.

You can live without real time statistics. Anything can wait another day :)
