This is my first intervention in this forum

I don't want my users to be forced to add their telephone number in their account. I've found the way in this forum to modify Zen Cart files to do so, but then Paypal is forcing my clients to write their telephones, no matter what I do.

I've installed Zen Cart (1.3.7, the version that my Hosting provider installes automatically) with Paypal IPN modules and the Paypal patches indicated here.

My Paypal settings are configured to not to ask the customers telephone, but then the field is there, and is not even optional. If a user leaves it in blank, he gets this message

Some required information is missing or incomplete. Please correct your entries and try again.
* Home Telephone: The phone number is not properly formatted.
* Home Telephone: The telephone number is too short.
--------------------------------

I don't want to force my clients to enter the phone number, since I know I will probably loose many. Has anyone found this problem before or knows its nature? Looks as if something goes wrong somewhere in the call ZC makes to Paypal.
