Question Regarding $0.00 Gift Certificate Balance Fix

Zen Cart 1.3.8a on Local (not live yet, still learning).

I've done all the security patches, and I'm doing the fixes in the "Known Bugs (and fixes) with v1.3.8 / v1.3.8a" thread. I've reached post #27, about the $0.00 Gift Certificate balance, on page 3. It doesn't tell me where in general.php to add the function shown in the post. I don't want to add the code in the wrong place and mess up everything.

I've found the section // Update the Customers GV account on line 1695, but I don't know if the code goes under there, or maybe it should just be added on at the very end of the file. May I have some direction on this? Thank you for your time.

You can add the function anywhere in that file ...

The function file is a group of functions that can be used anywhere in the Admin ... by adding the function to the file:
/includes/functions/general.php

It is now available to use ...

The only rule is to add it before the closing php bracket ?> and the end of the file and be sure that there are no space(s) or blank line(s) after the closing bracket ...

The line that reads:
// Update the Customers GV account

is just a comment about the function below it and not related to this fix ...

Just add the new function to the bottom of the file, before the closing php bracket ?> and is should work for you ...
