Need to change prices

Hi,

I have got my site up&running and i was charging the customers prices without any tax but now i need to charge them VAT.

Problem is i want to keep the prices but show them including VAT and system would work out automatically the Ex VAT price.

I know it can be done under my store in admin panel but i want the quickest way of doing it. I do use easy populate.

Ok i managed to change the price by using a simple excel formula but now there is one more problem..

When adding the item price, before it used to calculate ex and inc VAT price but now it does not... It only shows whatever price i put on any field.

What's gone wrong?

You missed some dependency doing this through excell
You backed up before doing this..right?

Yes i did have the backup which i have upload and evrything seems to be working good but what's the quicket way to carry out my job in excel?

Again back to normal and it's not calculating the prices in admin panel

Unless you know intimately, all the relationships in the DB, excel is not a tool to use on its own

There is a 3rd party tool easy populate that once you master it, can be valuable at performing what you seek

A free version is in the down loads section and there is a wiki guide for using

I do have easy populate installed on my site but this tax thing isnt working even on new items.

It worked this morning when i backed up.

Which other tool can i use apart from excel?

While there are other tools for mysql

None of them are specifically for ZenCart and we are back at having to know and understand the inter-relationships between tables

As to your VAT - this may be another config issue

Did it ever work correctly?
Does it work for any items now?

It worked but then stopped working again.

I dont remember changing anything recently. What else could it be?

Ahhh.. Good news is that i have just switched to linux and all calculations seem to be working good again.

I guess temp files were not allowing me to change/see what i wanted.

Am i right in presuming that?
