PHP or SQL Issue - Need help please

My host recently upgraded my VPS to the Following:

PHP Version 5.3.1
MySQL version 5.0.89-community

This was done to meet the requirements of a couple hosted sites however it has had an Ill effect on some existing sites running Zen Cart.

Zen Version 1.3.8a [Patched]

When visiting the cart the page is totally blank.

When visiting the cart's admin the following error is repeated multiple times.

Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /home/bodyjoyb/public_html/cart/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 177

Any ideas would be appreciated!
