    red flag _LRG and _MED doesn't work

    Hi,

    I am using version 1.3.8a.

    I have read the Tutorial on images. I have the following files for one product.
    1234.jpg
    1234_LRG.jpg
    1234_MED.JPG

    I put the first one into the images folder via admin section. I put the other two (LRG and MED) into the large and medium folders via ftp upload, respectively.

    However, when I click on a listing to go to the product info page the image on the info page is the same size as the catalog page (even though I have it set at twice the size in the configuration/images section).

    Also, the hovering of the mouse and clicking doesn't cause the image to expand.

    The only way I can get the LRG expansion when clicking is if when I am adding a product, I add LRG as an additional image. But then I get two pictures on the product info page, which are both squished and don't have the same pixel attributes.

    i've made sure that each products' pictures have their own base file name.

    i also went back through ftp and deleted all product images and LRG and MED images from the folders (at least the ones I've uploaded), and started over (just in case of duplications etc,). Still, my product info picture stays the same size as the catalog picture, and the picture expansion function doesn't work.

    any thougths would be much appreciated.

    thanks!

    Is you LRG image physically bigger (in pixel dimensions) than the MED image.

    abcde_MED.jpg = 300 X 400 pixels
    abcde_LRG.jpg = 600 X 800 pixels

    You can get over all these hassles by installing Image Hander 2...

    You just use ONE image:

    abcde.jpg = 600 X 800 pixels

    ... stored in the images directory...

    ... and Image Handler looks after all the thumbnailing and re-sizing...

    There are also some nifty hover-zoom options available.

    Hey, Thanks for replying.

    Yes the small, medium, and large images are all different sizes. I also noticed that if I go through the admin section and add the small image, and add the large as an additional image then both of them show up on the product info page, and both expand upon being clicked (the small one just expands a tiny little bit and can be moved around the screen).

    Furthermore, when i go through the admin, and delete the large image (and then verify through FTP that it is gone from the images and the images/large folders), the small image is still expandable on its own (again it expand just a tiny bit and is draggable around the screen).

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

    hi, i also noticed that there is a "products_extra_images" folder in my "images" folder. not sure if this is relevant. but seems that extra images uploaded from the admin area seem to go there.

    could this be the reason for the issue? do I need to alter the code?

    Your installation appears to display a LOT of non-standard behaviour.

    That products_extra_images folder is not standard, and neither is the behaviour of writing extra images to it standard.

    What modules have you added?

    Where did you get your template from?

    It is impossible to offer help where such radical customizstions have been made to an installation. We have no idea what was done to the code...

    i had some guy design it, since i don't know how to do it. but now im not working with him anymore, and i think he did do a lot of customization, but i don't know what exactly. so frustrating. so many months of working, money spent, and it's pretty much a useless blob that i still can't figure out.

    We might be able to figure something out with a link to the site.

    You must get hold of "some guy" and ask him to provide you with a detailed account of what was done to the site's code.

    In this way you KNOW what what to look for, and anyone who takes on the project will know what was done.

    He owes you this service. It is extremely unfair to heavily customize a site without giving the client an account of what was done. I do this not only as a matter of courtesy, but to account for the possibility of me being "hit by a bus"... at least my customers can then get other people to take over from where I left off with the minimum hassle and cost.
