*PLEASE HELP* Need to generate sales report but can't log in to admin

Hi,
I am so far away from being a computer expert that it's not even funny. I need some serious help here and it's probably a simple thing for most of you.

The situation:
I've had a website up and running for about a year with no big problems. About 2 or 3 weeks ago I couldn't log in to my admin. I've been trying to figure out what the problem is but have been unsuccessful. Now, I need to gain access to my orders from 2009 (appointment with m y tax people) and since I can't login to my admin I can't generate the reports I need. Is there any other way to get the data I need to generate my reports? Can I go onto my server and download any files to get the info I need? Please help if you can.

you could download export your tables from your database using the phpmyadmin tool on your server, everything is stored in there

there is a table called orders
